Conference Coordinator Summer Student

The Role

The Conference Coordinator summer student reports to a Project Manager (PM) and will work with a team to plan conferences and events that are held virtually or in-person across Canada. The Conference Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of logistical details such as finding exciting keynote speakers, coordinating with venues, managing registration platforms, developing creative marketing strategies, partnering with vendors, and much more. There will also be opportunities to travel for on-site execution.

  • Working towards/completion of a post-secondary degree with an interest in the meeting planning industry.

  • Professional co-op experience considered an asset.

  • Event coordination experience is considered an asset.

  • Ability to quickly learn how to use various technological tools, helping other teammates adopt these tools into everyday processes at work.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building positive relationships with many stakeholders including clients and teammates.

  • Proficient professional writing skills, with the ability to draft, edit, and proofread their own work and the work of others to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all written materials.

  • Confident, professional demeanor and a strong work ethic. This role involves working in a team environment and juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
