Covenant Health - Risky Business: The Ethics of Humility and Vulnerability in Health Care
June 13, 2013 - Delta Edmonton South, Edmonton, Alberta
Amid rapid and constant scientific advances there remains a prominent place for
the traditional art of conversation in medicine. Conversations allow us to hear both
the deeper needs and values of the people we care for as well as how our own
needs and values impact dialogue. While risky, having conversations right from the
beginning of care can help mitigate ethical conflict. In this conference participants
will explore preventative ethics strategies that appreciate the vulnerabilities
providers feel as they care for others and the humility that is cultivated through the
genuine--but complex--conversations we have with those we serve.

The Future of Law School Conference
September 26 to 28, 2013 - University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
Our Centenary Year will culminate with the two and a half day Conference, The Future of Law School, that will take place from Thursday evening 26 September through to the end of day Saturday 28 September 2013. This Conference is ideally timed to solicit a wide professional, judicial, academic and public response and to have a lasting legacy.
