The objective of the Western Canadian Gastrointestinal Cancer Consensus Conference is to reach agreement on best practice in cancer management, using an evidence-based approach. At the same time, the conference is intended to provide educational and networking opportunities for the gastrointestinal oncology community across Western Canada. The consensus statement that comes out of the discussions at the conference can affect practice, and can serve as a tool for this community.
